Realising the gravity of the issue of India Nepal border tensions, the Rajya Sabha today decided to have a longer discussion on the issue next week.Deputy Speaker P J Kurien accepted the contention of Minster of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj that the Members wanted to have a detailed presentation of their views on the issue and three minute time granted to each was quite insufficient under the Calling Attention Motion which was limited to one hour duration.
Ms Swaraj was supposed to give a statement to the House after the concerns raised by the Members on the issue. The matter is proposed to come up on December 7 under the Short Duration Discussion rules which can be three hours, or more.UNI PRA RSA/SB GC1450
